Stamping with Friend Color Challenge

Hi, Stamping Friends! Welcome and thank you for joining me for another Stamping with Friends Blog Hop! If you are new to my blog, Stamping with Friends is a group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who share our love of card making with you through monthly blog hops with various themes. The theme of this hop is a color challenge. A color challenge is designed to take colors that may be on the surface but just don't seem to coordinate and challenge you to use your creativity and incorporate them. The chosen palette for this hop features these colors: Tahitian Tide, Sweet Sorbet, Mango Melody, and Pacific Point.

All of these colors together scream beach/ocean to me and it all jived with my Stamp 'n SIP class this month in which I focus on scene-building. So take a look at what I created for you.

So I first stamped and masked the woman image from the "In the Moment" set. Then, using the Oceanfront set, I first started with the "sky". I used Mango Melody and Sweet Sorbet. I added the Mango Melody to the entire image, then using a sponge dauber, I "dabbed" spots of Sweet Sorbet to try to show shades and highlights. Next using the same process, I added Tahitian Tide and "dabbed" in Pacific Point to create the ocean.

I then colored the feminine image using the Stampin' Blends in Mango Melody and Sweet Sorbet and the deck with Crumb Cake. I colored her wine with a Nuvo Glitter maker,

I die cut the image using the Stylish Shapes dies then added a Calypso Coral mat layer.

I next broke out the Waves of the Ocean DSP which I've been hoarding, cut it to a 3 3/4" x 5" panel; cut it in 2, (dimensions are completely up to you), and mounted that on a piece of Basic White that was a 1/8" bigger. I had a scrap strip of Pacific Point so I adhered that to the join to complete the panel. To finish it off, I mounted the assembled image panel to an A2 size card base of Pacific Point.
