For today’s post I have been creating some gnome themed Christmas cards, one of which was inspired by the Sketch Challenge for this months Crafty Challenge Blog Hop.

On this hop you will find projects that have been created from a variety of Demonstrators from around the world who are a part of the Crafty collaborations community.

Gnome Themed Christmas Cards.

For my project I used the Storybook Gnomes Suite of products. This features a Cling stamp set and coordinating dies, as well as fabulous papers, ribbon, embellishments and some puffy snow paint. I also used the new Framed Florets dies which are going to be available from 1st November as part of the Fitting Florets Collection..

The Challenge

The challenge this month was a sketch challenge. I used Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper, interspersed with a mat of Night of Navy cardstock, to create the stripes in the background

Instead of a circle I used some of the layering oval elements from the new Fitting Florets dies. It is fun mixing and matching the die cut oval shapes.

The centre Basic White oval was sponged with Balmy Blue ink and stamped with some snow from the Windows Wishes Stamp set.

The Gnome was die cut with the elements from the Gnomes dies in colours that coordinated with the paper and pieced together.

To finish him off he had a Jingle Bell trinket added to his hat, along with a bow of white twine. A few of the Fine Sparkle Adhesive-Backed Gems surrounded him.

Designer Series Paper Showcase

I couldn’t have this suite on my craft desk without playing with some of the images that you can cut from the sheets of Designer Series Paper. The Gnome and toadstool house can both be cut with coordinating dies. However, the deer, sleeping fox and little bird were all fussy cut. These were all added to a Basic White mat that had greetings stamped randomly across it . It had been then been blended around the edge with Pool Party ink.

This mat was stuck to a Basic White card base that also had a mat of Christmas tree Designer Series paper adhered to it. This is another design from the Storybook Gnomes.
