Today’s Blog Post is illustrating how to watercolour with blocks.

This blog post is the monthly Crafty Challenge for the Crafty Collaborations Community. This month you will be able to hop around and see projects that have been inspired by a colour challenge.

Watercolour With Blocks

Two Christmas Cards using Stampin' Up's Spruced Up bundle

I am sharing two projects. One was inspired by the colours in the challenge and the other is using the left over pieces. Both projects use the Spruced Up bundle.

Illustrating how to watercolour with blocks on this Christmas Card using the Spruced Up bundle from Stampin' Up!

For this first project, I shared a technique I had recently seen, where an acrylic block is inked up and used to add blocks of colour to a saturated piece of Fluid 100 watercolor paper. I used 3 of the colours from the challenge – Early Espresso, Soft Succulent and Garden Green. This water coloured mat was added to a Basic Black mat of card, to bring in another of the challenge’s colours.

This card shows watercolour with blocks as well as glimmer paper die cuts using Stampin' Up's Spruced Up bundle.

Using the clever dies from the Spruced Up bundle I cut these tree frames from Gold Glimmer paper. Some Garden Green ribbon was wrapped around the bottom of the piece before it was attached to a Basic White card base (colour no. 5).

The sentiment was heat embossed in gold onto Basic Black. Finally some gold glimmer stars die cut stars were added.

The Leftovers

Glimmer Paper that has been fie cut with Stampin' Up's Spruced Up bundle add sparkle to this Christmas Card.

I couldn’t just leave two gold glimmer trees on my desk. so I combined them with presents die cut from Real red and White Glimmer card and added some stamped stripes to the Real Red background.

Let’s Hop

I hope you have enjoyed my project. Do leave a comment if you can, because it certainly makes my day. Then it is time to hop around all the other projects
